Blu Win HD Review

Purchased Blu Win HD from Microsoft Store 2014 12 Days of Deal for $99. The phone includes the following not listed in the box description:

  • Screen Protector installed
  • Extra Screen Protector
  • Silicone case in matching color

Review after 2 months of use:

Both phones work well but they have issues. The touch screen is not accurate. Many times when I am trying to scroll, it will end up selecting the item on screen rather than scrolling. Occasionally, the on screen keyboard will not work and will misinterpret key strokes. Sometimes the GPS navigation using Here Drive is not accurate. It thinks you are at a slightly different location than where you actually are. Sound stops working entirely (ie: no alarm, no notification, no keystroke, etc. sounds). Requires a reboot to restore the sound. Camera image quality is poor. 8GB storage fills up quickly. You will need an external SD card.

On the plus side, battery life is great, phone audio quality is good, phone UI is fast, phone is completely unlocked and not hampered by carrier phone or tethering locks (in settings, carrier is listed as “Open Market Device”). Overall, not bad for $99 but I would be willing to spend more to get a phone that was more polished.
